Associate Scientist, In Vivo, Immunology

Our Cambridge based client is seeking an exceptional in vivo specialist to join their ever growing Immuno-Oncology team (IO exposure not required but certainly preferred). In this role you will be part of the in vivo team working cross functionally with in vitro pharmacology, lending your support to animal studies.   • Work independently and as part of a collaborative team to design, plan, and execute experiments across multiple projects focused on oncology and discovery.

  • Perform in vivo studies in murine tumor models

  • Assist in downstream processing of ex vivo samples for cellular and cytokine analysis

  • Develop nucleic acid and protein-based assays to expand research platform. Work with limited supervision to prepare protocols, execute experiments, interpret data, and troubleshoot as necessary.

  • Analyze and present data internally

  • Interface with other teams, vendors, and CROs for testing and sample analysis


  • Must have independent hands-on experience in mouse handling, injections, and oral gavage with a preference for candidates experienced in tumor models.

  • Tissue dissection/dissociation and cell staining for flow cytometry (nice to have)

  • Development and execution of ELISA assays. Experience with multiplexed ELISA assays (e.g. MSD) in serum or conditioned media is highly desirable

  • Cell and molecular biology, including bacterial and mammalian cell culture, DNA and RNA isolation, qPCR, mRNA quantification, primer design, protein quantification, etc.

  • The following skill sets are a plus – IHC including tissue sectioning and staining, fluorescence microscopy, recombinant protein expression and purification.

  • Competency using Graph Pad Prism and a basic knowledge of statistical analysis

  • Demonstrated adaptability and the ability to quickly learn new concepts and experimental approaches in a fast-paced and evolving organization. Experience in designing protocols and troubleshooting, including consulting literature.

  • Strong oral and written communication skills with excellent interpersonal capabilities

  • Outstanding team player with ability to work effectively in groups as well as independently


  • BS in Biology or related field of study plus an additional 4 years of work experience in academic or industry setting or a MS in Biology or related field of study with 2+ years of experience in academic or industry setting

  • Occasional weekend work may be required
